Deliverables and Invoicing
Deliverables are progress reports, etc. sent to the sponsor by the researcher according to the schedule set out in a research agreement or the terms and conditions of the grant application.
There is an increasing demand for sponsors to be accountable for how their money is spent. As a result, the number of sponsors requiring deliverables from researchers is also increasing. Many sponsors have made receipt of deliverables a pre-condition of advancing subsequent installments of research funding under the grant or contract.
RSO invoices sponsors, but sponsors might not pay if they have not received promised deliverables. Researchers are encouraged to learn more about how deliverables can affect future research funds by visiting the RSO website.
Read about deliverables on the RSO website.

RSO website feature: Eligible Expenditures
In the 2005 RSO web usability study, the most requested information on the RSO website was information on eligible expenditures. Unfortunately, the sheer number of different sponsors and contracts makes it extremely difficult to keep this sort of information on our website.
However, RSO is pleased to showcase its Eligible Expenditures section, which features links to the Tri-Council (CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC) "Use of Funds" guides, relevant University policies, and other popular sponsors.
Visit the Eligible Expenditures page on the RSO website.
