Research Administration Day a Success!

Held on May 29th, Research Administration Day was a big success. The sessions held throughout the day were well attended and well received. Attendees learned about topics such as research administration, policies and procedures, finance and human resources.

To view presentations from the sessions, visit the RAD event page on the RSO website.

Conference Room Pilot a Positive Step Forward

Phase 2 of the Grants Management Project formally kicked off on June 7th. The scope of the project was confirmed as implementing the PeopleSoft Grants and Contracts modules, which will integrate pre-award activities with post award fiscal management.

The first Conference Room Pilot (CRP) was held on June 14th to demonstrate the conceptual design to the university community. The CRP showcased the PeopleSoft Grants solution using real university business scenarios and data. Feedback from the first CRP session was positive.

The CRP sets the stage for the project team to move into the design phase of the project. The design phase is the detailed mapping of PeopleSoft functionality and data, and redesign of business processes. Sponsors and stakeholders will be directly involved in design activities and key design decisions.

For more information on Grants Management Phase 2, contact the RSO Business Lead, Tamin Pretty, or the AIS Project Steward, Barry Scott.

Finance Matters

Signed Form 300s were due back to RSO on June 6th; however, several forms are still outstanding. If you have not already done so, please return your signed forms to RSO. It is important to return the signed forms to RSO as this demonstrates that principal investigators have reviewed and approved their financial statements. This also demontrates accountability to the sponsoring agencies.
